Spacious Student Apartments near DTU & Nature
Welcome to Trørød Kollegiet – Affordable, spacious, and social living.
Are you an international student looking for a place to call home in the greater Copenhagen area? If you are looking for more than just a single room, Trørød Kollegiet offers full 3-room, 2-bedroom apartments (57m²) designed for couples, families, or friends sharing.
Why choose Trørød Kollegiet?
- Space: 57m² apartments (huge by Copenhagen standards!).
- Privacy: Private kitchen, bathroom, and a small garden for every unit.
- Price: Affordable rent with utilities included.
- Community: A mix of Danish and international students.
About the Apartments
Unlike typical dorms where you share facilities, Trørød Kollegiet offers 96 independent apartments spread across 20 terraced houses. We are scenically located on the outskirts of Trørød, surrounded by forest and nature, yet connected to university life.
Perfect for:
- Couples: Plenty of space for two.
- Friends: The layout allows for two flatmates to share comfortably.
- Families: We are child-friendly and have playgrounds on-site.
Note: You must apply as two people (a couple or two friends) or as a single parent with a child.
Community & Facilities
We balance privacy with a strong social community. The dormitory is run by a Residents’ Council, giving you a voice in how things are run.
On-site amenities include:
- The “Central” Building: Contains a laundry room, gym, and a student bar.
- Study & Social: Rentable common rooms and quiet study areas.
- Outdoors: Green spaces, playgrounds, and locked bike sheds between the rows of houses.
Location & Transport
We are located in a tranquil area, perfect for focusing on your studies, but getting to campus or the city is easy.
Distances:
- DTU Lyngby Campus (8 km): ~30 mins by bike, or ~35 mins by bus (Lines 199, 150S, 300S).
- Copenhagen City Center (20 km): Reachable by bus or train.
Public Transport: You can take the S-train from Holte Station or the regional train from Vedbæk Station. These connections also allow easy travel north towards Hillerød and Helsingør.
Rent & Housing Benefits
Living here is highly affordable compared to central Copenhagen, especially when sharing the cost.

How to Apply
We use an external administration company called PKS (Polyteknisk KollegieSelskab), through which you sign up for the waiting list.
PKS also manages other dormitories around DTU, including Ostenfeld, Kampsax, William Demant, P.O. Pedersen, Paul Bergsøe and Villum Kann Rasmussen.
